COVID-19 UPDATE

We’ve been shown the road-map out of lockdown, now it’s time to put everything in place!

As we’re sure everyone has heard, the new road-map out of lockdown has been announced and as long as the numbers show it’s safe, the government will allow Hair and Beauty salons to re-open on the 12th of April 2021.

We’ll still be implementing all our safety measures as before (we need transmissions to stay low to remain open) however we expect to open for all services from this date.

As before, we’ll be getting in touch with everyone who has had pre-booked appointments that needed to be cancelled during lockdown first. 

Following this we’ll be getting in touch with everyone who has gotten in touch via email and phone. We need to remind everyone that at present, hair salons are still closed to the public so there will be limited times we can be in the spa to answer the phone.

As before, we’d like to ask everyone to either email in with your name, contact phone number, the service you require, your preference of stylist/therapist and any particular days or times that would suit you best. Should you call in then just leave the above information on your voicemail.

For colouring services, we would remind everyone that if you’ve used any colouring products yourself at home we need to perform a patch test before any colouring takes place. You may be aware of some social media posts highlighting issues of allergic reactions in people who have contracted Covid-19. We don’t have any scientific evidence of this however we would advise anyone who as contracted Covid at any point to take a patch test for pice of mind.

Finally, we would like to remind everyone that while lockdown continues, taking bookings can be time consuming! If you email in and don’t immediately get a reply we haven’t forgotten about you, every email and voicemail is logged and in the system it may just take a little time to work through to you. A week’s delay in replying does not mean you’ll be a week behind our opening date as naturally not everyone can come in the very first day we open due to commitments. As we know all our regular client’s treatments, we have a good understanding of what you’ll need so can provisionally make spaces for you as we go along. 

We’ll be working extra hours as per the previous re-openings so don’t panic! We’ll get to you soon enough and remember, the 12th is still 7 weeks away.

Once the Spa re-opens for Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Appointments, we respectfully ask that all clients wear a face mask for all appointments.

For treatments on the face and massage, the face mask can be removed when the treatment commences within the confines of the treatment rooms. Your therapist will be wearing a surgical mask and visor. If you need to exit the treatment room your face mask must be reapplied.

All Hairdressing appointments have been extended in time to enable us to take more effort to keep both clientele and staff safe. The following safety measures will be in place from Saturday the 4th of July until further notice and government guidelines;

Single entry at “The Stage Door” by the car park
Intercom Entry with “buzz and wait”
Single exit at the rear of the building
A “one way” system through the hotel
A reception-less visit
Over the phone pre-payment
One hour appointments for all cutting services.
Staggered appointment start times
Empty sections between clients
Empty seats between backwash
Product purchase “in your seat”
Re-book “in your seat”
PPE for staff (mask and visor)
PPE for customers (mask)
Updated staff hygiene procedure
Hand sanitiser points throughout the salon
Hand sanitiser at entry and exit
Gowns washed after every client/disposable gowns
Clients visit alone unless with other clients from the same household (only when both people having a service).
No under 11 children

The main points are, keeping YOU our customer safe and isolated as much as possible in a busy hairdressing environment. With the current guidelines we are absolutely happy coming to work knowing we are safe but only if we follow these guidelines.

At present, gift cards that have been issued with expiry dates that fall into the lockdown period will be extended by the amount of time were not offering a full menu of services.

Opening times may now differ to our usual to allow customers the fullest opportunity to visit and may change week to week.

All services must be paid for in full at the time of booking.

Bookings may be amended up to 72 hours prior to the appointment.

Cancellations within the 72 hour cancellation period will forfeit any payments made unless a replacement appointment can be booked in your place.

The Winter Spa Carlisle is situated within The Halston Aparthotel on the ground floor with easy access from Warwick Road. Adjacent to the hotel is a 55 space public car park with a second private entrance with remote secure access, the entrance to the public car park is via Cecil Street. The Aparthotel and Spa are serviced by all forms of public transport and is a short walk from Carlisle train station.

Within the Aparthotel are a public bar and restaurant and if you’d like to take advantage of these facilities we would be happy in assisting your arrangements. A waiter service is also available for food and drinks to be made available within the Spa.

The Winter Spa is open six days a week, opening times are;

Monday – 9am-6pm

Tuesday – 9am-6pm

Wednesday – 9am-8pm

Thursday 9am-8pm

Friday 9am-6pm

Saturday 9am-4pm

The Winter Spa operate a strict 72 hour cancellation policy. Any deposits made will be lost should an appointment be cancelled within the final 72 hours to your appointment. All groups/multiple bookings and our escape packages will require a none refundable deposit.
